I'm Elida (uh-lai-duh) Chen, a graphic designer and visual artist based in NYC and Ningbo. Influenced by my Chinese cultural background and over ten years of practicing traditional calligraphy, my work explores the balance between rational systems and emotional expression. I see art as self-catharsis and design as a means of spiritual communication. With an interest in math and data analysis, I often begin with small details and develop ideas through observation, research, and everyday moments. Interaction is central to my practice, as I aim to create accessible and engaging experiences across books, websites, data visualizations, and installations for diverse audiences.
